Senior Quality Assurance Technologist

Reporting to our Food Safety & Quality Manager this full-time role is based at our Papakura manufacturing site, where you’ll enjoy varied work, a great team and free onsite parking.
No two days will be the same in this dynamic role, where you'll champion Food Safety and Quality while supporting the implementation and continuous improvement and ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality food to our consumers. We’re looking for someone with natural leadership skills who can build rapport, confidently take the lead on projects, influence others and work through tricky situations.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Acting as the second in charge in the absence of the Food Safety and Quality Manager
Being the delegated SQF practitioner for the site
Building and developing strong relationships to encourage food safety best practice, influencing when needed to develop our food safety culture on site
Leading any junior employees or contractors within the team
Conducting HACCP reviews and participating in internal and external audits
Managing pre-requisite programmes
Conducting and managing GMP audits, including validating CCP and QCP.
Actively participating in cross-departmental risk assessment/ driving problem solving to prevent recurrence of issues
Delivering targeted food safety and quality systems training, tailoring your content to suit your learner
Contributing to the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System through participation in HACCP reviews, including CCP and QCP validation
What you’ll bring to the role?
3+ years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role, ideally in a FMCG food manufacturing environment
A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or similar
Experience with food safety & quality risk assessments
Experience with HACCP and Internal Audit Training
Confidence using MS Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (extra tick if you have used PowerApps)
Excellent written/verbal communication and relationship building skills – you work well in a team and can influence others when needed!
A passion for sharing your knowledge with others
Exceptional organisation skills – you’re a pro at juggling multiple balls and can easily jump between tasks.
