Permanent full or part time role as a Grade 1 or Grade 2 Nuclear Medicine Technologist

*Minimum two days per week for part time*

Current final year undergraduates, who will qualify in 2026, are warmly encouraged to apply for the Grade 1 position

Austin Hospital, Heidelberg location

Base salary + salary packaging + super + ADO's

About the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Department

Austin Health's Molecular Imaging and Therapy Department is one of Australia's leading centres for Nuclear Medicine, PET and Theranostics, providing services across the Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital campuses.

Our department offers a rare opportunity to develop expertise across the full scope of contemporary molecular imaging practice, including Nuclear Medicine, PET, radionuclide therapy and bone densitometry. We perform thousands of PET studies annually and are recognised for our contributions to cancer, neuroscience and dementia imaging, as well as clinical research and innovation. Austin Health has a strong track record in translational research and maintains close collaborations with leading research institutions and specialist clinical services.

About the role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist seeking broad clinical exposure, ongoing professional growth and involvement in leading-edge imaging and therapy services.

This role offers experience across

General Nuclear Medicine

PET imaging

Bone Mineral Densitometry

Radionuclide Therapy and Theranostics

Oncology and Neuroscience imaging

Clinical trials and research protocols

Radiation therapy planning studies

You will work alongside highly experienced technologists, physicists, radiochemists, researchers and Nuclear Medicine Physicians in a collaborative tertiary hospital environment. Opportunities also exist to develop skills in PACS administration, quality improvement, project work, teaching and departmental leadership initiatives.

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you

  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) in Nuclear Medicine Technology or accepted equivalent
  • Accreditation by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine
  • Registration with AHPRA as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • A current and valid Use Licence issued by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services
