About the company

Our client is a leading NZ agribusiness with a strong national customer base. They are investing in a dedicated direct to farm channel and need a commercial builder to take it to the next level.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager Customer, you will own the strategic direction, commercial performance and growth of the channel, including revenue, volume, market share and profitability. This is a sole charge role. You will reshape go to market, sharpen the offer and scale the channel alongside the core customer teams.

Key responsibilities

Own revenue, volume, market share and profitability for the channel

Reshape channel strategy and go to market approach

Refine the customer offer to win small to medium farming operations

Grow the sheep and beef segment, the biggest opportunity in the channel

Work alongside the core customer teams with clear differentiation of service

Manage delegated spend authority across indirect costs

Report channel performance and commercial insight to senior leadership

Spot growth opportunities early and scale what works

Key skills and experience required

10 to 15 years plus in senior sales and business management

Genuine agri credibility and track record, able to earn trust in the sector

Strong commercial acumen with confidence owning revenue and margin

Track record of growing a channel or business unit, not just running one

Entrepreneurial, energetic and resilient, able to keep building through rejection

Skilled at influencing and collaborating across teams without direct authority

* Experience selling to small to medium farming operations advantageous
