**Award:** Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 -2028

**Role description**

The Registered Midwife provides and coordinates comprehensive, evidence-based maternity care at an advanced level across the care continuum, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. This role encompasses maternity assessments and any required inpatient care, delivered using primary health care principles, advanced clinical judgement, and problem-solving skills, in collaboration with and supported by the Midwifery Group Practice team.

In addition, the Registered Midwife demonstrates leadership within the acute care setting by contributing to planning, coordination, and delivery of maternity services. The role includes providing clinical guidance, support, and mentorship to other staff on the acute ward to promote high-quality, safe, and woman-centred maternity care.

**About you**

**Essential:**

  • Current midwifery registration with APRHA
  • FSEP Level 3 practitioner (or level 2 working towards level 3)
  • Skilled in neonatal resuscitation
  • Recent obstetric emergency simulation training
  • Current driver's licence

**Desirable:**

  • Completed or working towards advanced clinical midwifery practice.
  • Further postgraduate qualifications
