Full-time permanent and part-time fixed-term opportunities available
Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?
We're looking for motivated and customer-focused Refuse Transfer Station Operators to join our team. You'll help keep our transfer stations running smoothly, safely and efficiently while providing great service to our community.
We have two opportunities available
• Full-time, permanent position: 40 hours per week, worked eight hours per day over five days.
• Part-time, fixed-term position: 24 hours per week, worked eight hours per day over three days. This position is for six months to provide parental leave cover, ending 29 April 2027.
Both positions are worked on a rostered basis and include weekend and public holiday work. You’ll be rostered across our three Refuse Transfer Stations located in Matamata, Morrinsville and Waihou.
What you'll be doing
Assisting customers with waste and recycling disposal
Managing site presentation, cleanliness, and waste streams
Processing customer transactions and operating the weighbridge system
Supporting safe traffic flow and site operations
Working closely with contractors, team members and the public
What we're looking for
A full NZ Driver Licence
Great customer service and communication skills
A practical, reliable and safety-focused approach
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Wheels (W) endorsement preferred but not essential as training can be provided
