Civil Operator
Tradestaff is looking for a skilled Civil Operator to join a major civil construction project in Whakatāne. We're after an experienced operator who is confident on heavy machinery, knows their way around a civil site and takes pride in getting the job done safely and efficiently. Location: Whakatāne, Bay of Plenty
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $30–$35 per hour + weekly pay
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate excavators, loaders and other civil construction machinery
- Complete earthworks, excavation and ground preparation
- Carry out trenching and assist with underground infrastructure works
- Prepare and level sites ready for construction
- Move and load materials safely around site
- Complete machinery pre-start checks and basic maintenance
- Work alongside civil crews to complete projects safely and efficiently
What We're Looking For
Proven civil machinery operating experience — essential
Current WTR endorsements — essential
Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
Confident operating excavators, loaders and other civil equipment
Experience with earthworks, trenching and site preparation
Ability to work independently and as part of an experienced civil crew
Strong understanding of site health and safety procedures
