Hotel Handyman/Maitemance

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hardworking Maintenance Handyman with strong painting and decorating skills to support our hotel maintenance operations.

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Handyman, you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance tasks, with a particular focus on painting, decorating and maintaining the appearance of hotel interiors and communal areas.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in painting and decorating, good attention to detail, and the ability to carry out minor repairs and general upkeep. You should be comfortable working independently, managing tasks efficiently and maintaining a professional approach while working within a hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out painting and decorating work in hotel bedrooms, corridors, communal areas and other designated spaces.

Prepare surfaces before painting, including filling small holes, sanding, repairing minor imperfections and applying suitable primers.

Apply paint neatly and professionally to walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards and other surfaces as required.

Carry out touch-ups and refurbishment work to maintain the hotel's appearance and standards.

Perform general handyman duties, including minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks.

Assist with fixing loose fittings, handles, hinges and other minor fixtures where appropriate.

Identify maintenance issues and report any problems requiring specialist attention.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.

Follow health and safety procedures and use equipment and materials responsibly.

Work professionally and cooperatively with hotel teams and RS Worldwide management.

Complete assigned tasks within agreed timescales while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Essential Requirements

Previous practical experience in painting and decorating.

Good knowledge of surface preparation, paint application and finishing techniques.

Experience carrying out general handyman duties and minor repairs.

Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

Understanding of basic health and safety practices.

Desirable Skills

Previous experience working in hotels, commercial buildings or similar environments.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry or other general maintenance tasks.

Ability to identify maintenance issues and determine when specialist assistance is required.

Good communication skills and a professional attitude when working around guests and colleagues.
