Care Partner (Healthcare Assistant) | Nursing Students | Summer Fixed-Term

• Are you currently studying nursing and looking for an opportunity to gain practical healthcare experience during your summer break?
• Elizabeth Knox Home & Hospital is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate nursing students to join our team as Care Partners on a fixed-term basis from November 2026 to February 2027.
• This is a great opportunity to use your developing healthcare knowledge in a supportive aged-care environment while making a genuine difference in the lives of older people.
• About the role
• As a Care Partner, you will work alongside our experienced care and nursing teams to support residents with their daily needs and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities may include

• Supporting residents with day-to-day personal care
• Assisting residents with mobility and daily activities
• Providing respectful, person-centred care
• Observing and reporting changes or concerns appropriately
• Working collaboratively with Registered Nurses and other members of the care team
• Helping create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for our residents
• About you

• Are currenty studying towards a nursing qualification
• Are available to work during the university/summer holiday period between November 2026 and February 2027
• Have a genuine interest in caring for and supporting older people
• Are compassionate, reliable and respectful
• Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
• Are willing to work rostered shifts as required
• * Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
• Previous aged-care experience would be helpful, but for the right nursing students, your attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to providing excellent care are equally important.
