Lead from the tools on a project worth being part of.

Seipp Construction is looking for a Structures Leading Hand to join our East Clive Wastewater Outfall Project in Hastings.

This is complex infrastructure that will make a lasting difference to Hawke’s Bay. We need someone with strong concrete structures experience who can get stuck in, organise a crew and help deliver work they’re proud to put their name to.

The opportunity

Seipp self-performs much of our work, so you’ll be part of a team that takes ownership of how the job gets done. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and site leaders, contributing your practical knowledge and helping the crew deliver safely and efficiently.

This is a fixed-term role starting as soon as possible and ending on 5 February 2027, supporting the structures work on the project.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside the Foreman, you’ll

• Lead a small crew while working on the tools.
• Carry out and coordinate formwork, reinforcing and concrete placement.
• Read drawings and make sure the crew understands the work.
• Organise daily tasks, tools and materials.
• Check workmanship and raise issues early.
• Set the standard for safe work and looking after plant and equipment.
• Help less experienced team members build their skills.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced Structures Leading Hand, or a capable senior carpenter with experience guiding others and ready to step up.

You’ll have

• Strong practical experience in concrete structures and formwork.
• The ability to read and work from construction drawings.
• A clear, straightforward way of communicating.
• The confidence to give direction and speak up when something needs attention.
• Pride in quality workmanship and a reliable approach to work.
